Gaza On Canvas

A Tribute to Young Gazan Artists

This space is dedicated to the extraordinary creativity of young Gazan artists and to the people of Gaza themselves, who are unlike any others in the world. They are among the bravest, kindest, and most remarkable human beings, and like so many across the globe, I am in awe of their courage, generosity, and resilience.

Why This Gallery Exists

We created this online gallery to honour that spirit and to reflect it back to them in some small way. It is a gesture of solidarity, admiration, and deep respect for a people whose humanity shines even in the harshest of circumstances.

Art as Resistance, Remembrance, and Hope

In Gaza and across Palestine, art is more than expression — it is resistance, remembrance, and hope. Under the most difficult and unjust conditions, these artists continue to create, telling the world their stories and lived experiences through their work.

Through colour, texture, and imagination, they infuse beauty where there is destruction and meaning where there is loss. Their work reminds us that creativity survives oppression and that the human spirit refuses to be broken.

An Invitation to Witness

This gallery is an invitation — to witness, to understand, and to carry these stories with us. It asks us to see beyond headlines and to recognise the individual voices, dreams, and talents behind each piece.

Even in the darkest places, creation blossoms. Even in uncertainty, imagination thrives.

How You Can Support

If you are able, please consider purchasing their work. Your support directly uplifts these wonderful artists and their families, helping sustain not only livelihoods but also the vital act of creative expression itself.

Mohammed Friej

Artist
Gaza, Palestine
Profile

A Palestinian artist from Gaza, 22 years old, focused on building my future while developing my passion for art.

I grew up in a loving family, and my father always supported me and provided everything I needed to learn, grow, and pursue my dreams. After losing him during the war, my life changed completely. I suddenly found myself carrying responsibilities far beyond my age. Despite everything, I continue to hold on to art and hope. For me, drawing is more than a hobby—it is a way to tell my story, express my emotions, and share a message of humanity, resilience, and compassion. Every artwork I create carries a piece of who I am, and every kind word, share, and act of support gives my family and me the strength to keep moving forward. Thank you for being part of my journey.
